Butyl rubber is known for its excellent impermeability to gases and resistance to sunlight and ozone. It is suitable for applications involving exposure to animal and vegetable oils and oxidizing chemicals. However, it is not recommended for use with petroleum solvents, coal tar, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Available in 36-inch wide rolls with thicknesses ranging from 1/32 inch to 2 inches and durometers between 30 and 80.
